Capturing Moments in Time
A bit about Mike...
I create expressive landscapes and nature-inspired works in both soft pastel and stylized acrylic, each medium allowing me to explore different emotional textures and visual rhythms.
My pastel work is rooted in realism - capturing light, atmosphere, and quiet detail with softness and depth. In contrast, my acrylic paintings are bold and stylized, using flowing color bands, simplified shapes, and strong contrast to reimagine nature with clarity and energy.
Both approaches reflect my connection to nature — from the quiet beauty of rural Wisconsin to the bold landscapes traveled throughout the world.
Whether I'm layering subtle pastel hues or carving clean lines into vivid paint, my goal is the same: to honor the spirit of the world around, and invite you to pause, reflect, and feel something lasting.
Across styles, my work is united by a sense of presence — a moment held in time, color, or quiet contrast. Whether shaping clouds with soft pastel or carving movement into painted lakes, I aim to make the viewer feel as if they’ve just arrived — into stillness, into story, into the wild rhythm of the world.
